Welcome friends, family and fans to Issue 2 of Borderline Newsworthy. Things are getting very real around here, so let's get right to it

After several months of planning, devouring best-practices guides, endless rounds of revision and an occasional choice word, we nervously hit the “submit for review” button on our upcoming Kickstarter campaign a few days ago.
As first-time creators, Kickstarter required us to submit our entire campaign for review before we could proceed with our pre-launch activation. After being told it could take up to three days to receive approval (or feedback), we were thrilled to get the green light in just three hours!

For those of you wondering what the heck we’re talking about, Kickstarter is a crowdfunding platform that enables “creators” (that’s us) to present creative projects to potential backers (that’s you), who can then pledge money in exchange for rewards. If a project meets its funding goal, pledged funds are collected, creators rejoice and backers get their rewards. If, however, the funding goal isn’t met, no funds are collected and creators reconsider their life choices.
For as little as $30, you’ll be able to get your hands on one of our puzzles. At our top two reward tiers, you’ll receive several puzzles, including our first-ever limited edition, Bedazzled. Of course, you can always pledge an amount beyond the reward tier you select or opt to pledge without receiving a reward if you're feeling generous. You'll learn more at launch!
Since first announcing to friends and family that we were taking Borderline Obsessive Puzzles from concept to launch, many of you have asked, “How can I help?”
Well, friends, this is the moment.
- Head over to our Kickstarter pre-launch page and click the Notify Me On Launch button. Yes, now!
-
Forward this update to everyone you know! Chances are, you know more than a few people who love to puzzle, and we need all the help we can get spreading the word.
- If you’re on social media, post about us and link to our Kickstarter pre-launch page, our Instagram feed or both!
The more people following BOP before launch, the stronger the start we can have when the campaign goes live. Every click, share and introduction to a fellow puzzler helps!

Our Die is Taking Shape
Last month we shared that our custom die design was underway, and we’re excited to report that we’ve officially approved the final dieline!
Now, a craftsman is hand-bending steel rule to create the shapes of all 500 individual pieces in our custom cut. Yes, by hand. All 500 of them. It’s a painstaking process that takes several weeks to complete and will ultimately become the die used to cut every BOP puzzle.
We’re hoping to get a behind-the-scenes look at the die-making process as it progresses, so stay tuned!

Next Stop: Philadelphia
One would think getting our Kickstarter campaign approved was enough excitement for the month, but no.
On September 26, we’re heading to Philadelphia for the PA/NJ/IN State Jigsaw Puzzle Championships to put our speed-puzzling skills to the test.
For the first time, we’ll both be competing in three back-to-back events: solos, pairs relay and pairs. The pairs relay is brand new to us, and new to *everyone* as of 2024. We’ll each be given a 200–300-piece puzzle and have 45 minutes to complete both. The catch? We have to switch puzzles every five minutes!
There may be a cocktail or two required after this one. Wish us luck!
